Declaring Up Age Divisions

If a player wishes to declare up an age division, they must let the WTJCT know before the start of the event. Once a player chooses to declare up, they may not move back down to their original age division at any time. Points and/or wins earned in the old age division within season will not carry over to the new division.

Sibling Member Discount

Families with more than 1 sibling playing in a single day event may receive a $5 discount for the 2nd player and so on. (First player will be $25, 2nd player will be $20, 3rd $20, etc).

This policy may be applied to any WTJCT event on the schedule, beginning June 1st, 2018, and will only apply to WTJCT members. To utilize the discount, players must simply register for an event and it will automatically apply.

Discount will only apply if more than 1 sibling is registered for an event.

 

Registering for Tournaments

How To Register
Parents and/or players will be required to set up an account on our website before registering for an event (account registration is free). For more details on registering, click here.

Registration for all single day summer events will cut off at 7:00 pm the night before the event.

Registration for any off season events, the West Texas Junior Open and the Tour Championship will cut off at least 3 days before the start of the event. 

Walk Up Policy
If a player decides to play in an event after the deadline has cut off, they may walk up to the event the morning of. Players that choose to walk up will be required to register at the tournament 1 hour before starting time. Please note that debit/credit cards are not accepted at the tournament site. Cash or check only.

Walk Ups will not be allowed for any off season events (Spring, Fall, Winter), the West Texas Junior Open or the Tour Championship.

 

Tour Credit

A player receives a tour credit for one of the following reasons:

1) Joined the tour as an Early Bird Member (Joined before January 19, 2019) and received the $25 credit for becoming an Early Bird Member.
2) Cancelling for an event that the player was pre-paid for. Please click here for more information on our Cancellation/Refund Policy.

Using Early Bird Credit:
Players may use their $25 Early Bird Credit for any summer event. Early Bird credit is applied to their account before the start of the summer season. If a player uses their Early Bird Credit for an event that costs more than the $25, the remaining balance must be paid online. Early Bird Credit will expire after the end of the issued season.

Using Credit from a Cancellation:
Players may use cancellation credit for any event. If a player uses their credit for an event that costs more then what their credit is, the remaining balance must be paid online. Cancellation credit expires 1 year after the issued date.

Any credit issued may not be used if the player is walking up to an event, they must register online with their credit.

 

General Tournament Information

Tour Rules & Policies

 

Walking/Push Carts

Ages 13-18: All players are required to walk the entirety of their round unless specific shuttles are assigned per local rules. Push/pull carts are always allowed, and we encourage them for the first time golfers.

Ages 10-12: Player must walk during the hole, but may receive a ride from green to tee box (if they choose). Caddies in this division may carry the players bag, use a push cart or carry the bag on a golf cart.

Ages 8-9: Player must walk during the hole, but may receive a ride from green to tee box (if they choose). Caddies in this division may carry the players bag, use a push cart or carry the bag on a golf cart.

Ages 6-7: Player may walk or ride in a golf cart with their caddie (if they choose). Caddie may carry the players bag, use a push cart or carry the bag on a golf cart.

 

Starting Time for Events

Most events during the summer months will be a shot gun start, usually in the morning. Players that are pre-registered for the event must be checked in no later than 30 minutes before start time. Players that are walking up must be registered 1 hour before start time.

10 minutes before starting time, the WTJCT staff will gather up all the players and brief them on any local rules for the day.

If the event is tee-times, the WTJCT will have tee-times posted on the website at least 24 hours before the start of the event. It is the players responsibility to check the website for their tee time and for any last minute changes. Player must be checked in at the event 30 minutes before starting time, and be on the tee box 10 minutes before starting time.

 

Awards

Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in each age division. Awards for the West Texas Junior Open and the Tour Championship will be based on the amount of participants in each age division.

 

Tour Championship

How To Qualify
Player must be a member of the current season to have a chance at qualifying for the Tour Championship.

Two Ways to Qualify

1. Finish the current season ranked in the Top 15 Points Race for your age division
2. Receive an automatic qualification for winning 3 events.

Year End Awards

- Most Points
Award given to the player who wins the Points Race for their age division by the end of the regular summer season.

- Most Wins
Award given to the player(s) who have the most wins by the end of the season in their age division.

- Lowest Stroke Average
Award given to the player with the lowest stroke average by the end of the season in their age division. (The Willow Creek Par 3 event does not count in this average) Player must have a minimum of 5 total rounds in order to be in the running for this award.

- Playoff Warrior Award
This award is given to the player(s) that were in multiple sudden death playoffs throughout the season. 

- Sportsmanship Award
This award is voted on by your peers and playing competitors. This award is based on players who have shown true sportsmanship and etiquette throughout the year.

- Will Long Memorial Scholarship
This is presented to graduating seniors who were selected based on their 2018 Will Long Memorial Scholarship Application. To apply, click here.

- Embre & Garrett Smith Scholarship, in Memory of Jack Bob Smith
This is presented to graduating seniors who were selected based on their 2019 Embre & Garrett Smith Scholarship Application. To apply, click here.

- Male and Female Player of the Year
This award is presented to one 15-18 Girl and one 15-18 Boy. This award is based on stroke average, wins, strength of field, head to head competition and sportsmanship. The committee will also take into consideration the difficulty of golf courses and the golf course conditions that were played for each player.

To qualify for this award, player must play in a minimum of 5 selected "Player of the Year Events". Qualifying Events will be noted on the schedule.

 

WTJCT Year End Banquet

The Year End Banquet will be held on the Thursday evening of the Tour Championship. All players that are playing in the Tour Championship are invited to attend with their families. At the Banquet, we distribute all of the Year End Awards (mentioned above).
