Frequently Asked Questions:
What does Age Division Cut off Mean?
Whatever a players age is on the official cut off date is the age division they are eligible to compete in. This means that our system (ShotStat) will default players to the age division based on the age they will be on the cutoff date.
What if a player has a birthday AFTER the cutoff date that would move them up a division?
A player will have the OPTION to move up to the next age group if they choose, or they may stay in the age division they were eligible for at cut off. Players are not required to move up an age division after the cutoff date.
What if a player wants to declare up to an older division?
See details below on declaring up.
What if a player has a birthday in pre season (anytime January 1-May 31st) that would result in moving up, and already competed in earlier season events in the younger age division?
The player will be required to move up a division regardless of where they competed in earlier season events. The points earned in younger age divisions will NOT transfer to a new division.
What do you recommend if my player has a birthday between January - June?
In order to keep the points you earned in any early season events (January - May), we typically recommend for players to move up to the age division they will be primarily playing for that season. This will allow them to keep all the points they earn (and it helps build experience!).
What if I want my player to compete in the division based on his age, regardless of the age cutoff prediction?
As example, if your player will be 13 right before the cutoff date, but wants to compete in the 10-12 Division for the January event, they definitely can. Please reach out to the Tour Director to manually adjust the age division in this case. Just remember, points earned in a younger division will not transfer to a new division within the same season.
Declaring Up:
Declaring up is defined as a player who chooses to move up an age division, even if their age has not reached the new division. A player may decide to declare up an age division at any point during the year. However, once a player has declared up they will not be eligible to move back down.
Any points that were earned in the current season in their current division will NOT carry over to the new age division. Any wins earned will not be counted towards Most Wins for that season.
To Declare Up: Player and/or Parent MUST send an email to wtjct@yahoo.com to let the Tour Director know you are moving your player up to the next age division. This is especially important if player is declaring up mid-season so we may remove player from their previous standings. Once you have confirmed with the Tour Director on the move, when registering for an event, a player simply will select the age division they are choosing to declare up to. When registering for all events moving forward, it is important to select the correct age division each time. Players may not jump between age divisions. Once they move up, they cannot move back down.

Starting Time for Events:
Shot Gun Starts: Most events during the summer months will be a shot gun start, usually in the morning. This means all players will have the same tee off time, but starting on different holes. Players that are pre-registered for the event must be checked in no later than 30 minutes before start time. Players that are walking up must be registered 1 hour before start time.
10 minutes before starting time, the WTJCT staff will gather up all the players and brief them on any local rules for the day.
Tee Time Starts: If the event is tee-times, all players will have their own starting time and teeing off on the 1st or 10th hole. The WTJCT will have tee-times posted on the website at least 24 hours before the start of the event. It is the players responsibility to check the website for their tee time and for any last minute changes. Player must be checked in at the event 30 minutes before starting time, and be on the tee box 10 minutes before their starting time.
